The main topic of the report is the analysis of international prices for oilseeds, oils, and meals, as reflected in the FAO price indices.
In August 2025, all three FAO price indices tracking developments in the oilseed complex increased compared to the previous month. The oilseed price index rose by 1.4 points (1.4 percent) compared to July, registering an annual increase for the first time since early 2023. The price indices for meals and vegetable oils increased by 2.9 and 2.3 points (3.7 and 1.4 percent), respectively. The main reason for the increase in the oilseed price index was higher quotations for soybeans and sunflower seeds, while the cost of rapeseed remained virtually unchanged.
