FAO – World Food and Agriculture: Statistical Yearbook, 2025

The Statistical Yearbook 2025 by FAO is divided into four chapters focusing on the economic dimensions of agriculture, production, trade and prices of commodities, food security and nutrition, and sustainability and environmental aspects of agriculture.

Each chapter utilizes the latest available data to analyze trends since the early 2000s. The country classification is based on the United Nations M49 classification system, with regional and subregional aggregates also following this classification. Aggregations in the report are based on sum and weighted mean calculations, with a sufficiency condition requiring a minimum threshold of 50 percent of data reporting. Data presentation conventions include using an asterisk (*) to indicate the most recent value when data for the reference year are not available, and specifying that one billion is 1,000 million while one trillion is 1,000 billion. Additionally, tables may show blanks for missing data, 0 or 0.0 for zero values, and periods used as decimal points.
