NAIC – AI and ESG, Oct 2024

The Australian Government's National Artificial Intelligence Centre (NAIC) serves as the central hub for coordinating the nation's AI expertise and capabilities. Established to drive collaboration among researchers, academics, and industry, the NAIC focuses on supporting AI adoption for small and medium businesses, addressing barriers and challenges, and promoting safe and responsible AI practices. In July 2024, the Centre transitioned to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, aiming to better connect AI advice from across Australia with government initiatives. The NAIC also oversees programs like the Responsible AI Network and the Voluntary AI Safety Standard, providing best practice guidance and resources to uplift responsible AI practices across Australian industries.
