EIA – Monthly Energy Review, August 2024

The Monthly Energy Review (MER) by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides recent and historical energy statistics for the United States. It includes data on energy production, consumption, stocks, trade, prices, and various energy sources. The MER is mandated by Public Law 95-91 to collect and disseminate energy data. It is used by Congress, government agencies, energy analysts, and the public. The MER is released monthly along with other EIA reports like Petroleum Supply Monthly and Natural Gas Monthly. Data in the MER may be preliminary and subject to revisions as new information becomes available. The report is available in various formats on the EIA website. Historical data from 1949 has been incorporated into the MER since 2013. The MER is typically released on the last workday of each month.
