Key findings include that in 2024, wind and solar energy in Turkey surpassed electricity production from domestic coal for the first time. Solar energy production increased by 39% compared to the previous year. Wind and solar accounted for 18% of Turkey's total electricity production. Imported coal made up 61% of Turkey's coal generation in 2024. Turkey aims to quadruple its wind and solar energy production by 2035.
