IATA – Air Cargo as an Enabler of Export Growth and Diversification

Air cargo plays a crucial role in supporting export growth and diversification, particularly in Peru.

It facilitates the expansion of both traditional high-value exports and non-traditional agricultural products by enabling market entry, product differentiation, and access to distant premium markets where speed and reliability are essential. The National Export Strategic Plan (PENX) 2015-2025 highlights the importance of air cargo in export diversification through trade liberalization, fiscal coordination, digitalization, and sanitary reforms. Air cargo is expected to remain strategically important for Peru's future export development and logistics upgrading.
