The report focuses on the challenges and opportunities for plastic waste recycling in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Global plastic production has increased significantly, but only about 9% of plastic waste is recycled. GCC countries are major producers and consumers of plastic, but the recycling rate remains low (around 10%). There is significant potential for improving plastic recycling in the region.
