KAPSARC – The Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment of Jet Fuel Production and Consumption

The "Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessment of Jet Fuel Production and Consumption" report by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) provides a comprehensive analysis of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with jet fuel in Saudi Arabia. This study employs a life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology to evaluate GHG emissions from jet fuel production and consumption within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The system boundaries encompass well-to-tank (WTT) activities—including crude oil extraction, transportation, and jet fuel production and distribution—and tank-to-wake (TTW) activities related to aircraft operation. The findings offer valuable insights into the environmental impact of jet fuel, informing strategies for emission reduction and sustainable aviation practices.
