The ethanol industry's contribution to the U.S. economy was $53 billion in GDP, $28 billion in income related to employment, and supported over 310,000 jobs. The industry generated more than $10 billion in tax revenue. The largest economic contribution was in the agricultural sector, where 5.5 billion bushels of corn were processed into renewable fuel and co-products.
