Ipsos – Teen Trends, 2023

Ipsos has released a report titled "Teen Trends, 2023" which explores the changing nature of teenagers and the need for a new approach. The report is not just about the future of Gen Z, but about the experiences and perspectives of young people in today's world and what that might mean for the future. The report highlights the differences between teenagers and adults, including demographic, behavioral, and educational disparities, as well as their relationships with brands and institutions. One concerning finding is that teenagers have very little optimism for the future across various socioeconomic topics. The report was based on interviews with hundreds of teenagers using Ipsos' KnowledgePanel and the Club Z online community. The concept of being a 20-something is relatively new, as younger generations are staying in school longer, getting married, buying homes, and having children later in life. This has created a period where more young people are independent and often struggling financially. The report questions whether teenagers will continue to follow these trends.
