Creative Economy, Forecasts Until 2030

Summary
The creative economy is recognized as an important driver of growth worldwide, with the potential to improve livelihoods while uplifting the social wellbeing of individuals and communities. Rapid digital transformation has led to new and innovative prospects, with the growth of creative startups creating cutting-edge job opportunities. The pandemic has accelerated the number of new online users in Southeast Asia, resulting in a burgeoning digital market with projected e-commerce revenue in ASEAN reaching over $80 billion by 2024. The ASEAN Creative Economy has been identified as an important driver for recovery from the pandemic, with policy assistance needed to support its growth. The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and the ASEAN Secretariat have collaborated to publish Creative Economy 2030: Imagining and Delivering a Robust, Creative, Inclusive, and Sustainable Recovery.
