Accenture – Risk Study, 2024 Edition

Accenture's risk study highlights that many risk teams are falling behind in addressing the rapidly changing risk landscape. Businesses are facing complex, interconnected risks that are emerging at a faster pace, making it challenging to detect and manage them. The study reveals that companies' risk management capabilities have not kept up with this changing environment. To tackle these challenges, businesses need to modernize their risk function by upgrading skills and technologies and fostering a "risk mindset" throughout the organization. This includes equipping every function and employee with the tools to identify and mitigate threats, which can ultimately turn risks into growth opportunities. The study also identifies leaders in risk management, but it shows that only a small percentage of organizations have advanced risk management capabilities, while an equal number have less mature capabilities.
