ING - Monitoring Hungary

ING has launched a project called "Monitoring Hungary" with the aim of analyzing Hungary's political and economic landscape. Led by Professors Péter Krekó and András Deák, the project seeks to provide timely and accurate information on various aspects of Hungarian society, including its political establishment, civil society, economy, and media landscape. The authors argue that Hungary's recent shift towards illiberal democracy poses significant challenges to the rule of law, democracy, and human rights. Through data collection and analysis from various sources, including public opinion surveys and expert interviews, the project aims to shed light on these developments and provide unbiased analysis to encourage informed debates and decision-making. The project also aims to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among different actors to promote democratic values, accountability, and social cohesion in Hungary. Ultimately, "Monitoring Hungary" seeks to offer recommendations for promoting democratic values and human rights in the country.
