PWC β Global Economic Crime Survey, 2024
Summary
In a world where economic crime is a significant challenge due to geopolitical pressures, expanding bribery and corruption risks, and increased scrutiny on ESG responsibilities, the PwC Forensics practice conducted a Global Economic Crime Survey in 2024.
The survey involved nearly 2,500 companies across 63 territories, with two-thirds of respondents being C-suite executives, including General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officers, and Chief Audit Executives. The research also included interviews with senior executives from major corporations to understand how businesses are addressing economic crime risks. As governments worldwide expect companies to prevent economic crime and disclose its consequences more fully, regulatory enforcement and cross-border cooperation among law enforcement agencies are increasing. The survey aims to provide insights into how boards and business leaders are managing economic crime risks in today's complex and challenging environment.
