WGS & Kearney β 8 Transformations: from crises to opportunities, 2024
Summary
The world is currently facing a period of intersecting crises and intensifying challenges in various domains such as geopolitics, the environment, the economy, and society.
This has led to active conflicts, high levels of debt, and costly effects of climate change. As a result, the international order, global economy, and public institutions are under great pressure, with governments finding it difficult to meet citizen needs due to limited fiscal space and political polarization. The gap between the challenges we face and our institutions' ability to address them poses a significant risk of citizens losing faith in the possibility of positive change. This lack of confidence in collective action at the local, national, and international levels could lead to economic crises, societal breakdowns, and wars.
