World Bank – MENA Economic Update, Spring 2024

The MENA region is projected to experience modest growth in 2024, reverting back to the low growth rates seen before the pandemic. The World Bank's Spring 2024 Economic Update for MENA titled "Conflict and Debt in the Middle East and North Africa" not only analyzes the macroeconomic outlook of the region but also includes two special sections. The first section delves into the economic effects of conflict in the Middle East on the Palestinian economy and neighboring economies. The second section discusses the challenges posed by increasing debt levels in MENA, particularly for oil importing and oil exporting economies.
