The main theme of the report is the growing demand for platinum in the medical sector.

In 2024, medical demand for platinum accounted for 4% of total platinum demand and continues to grow. It is expected to increase by another 4% in 2025. Platinum is actively used in cancer treatment and the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). Platinum and other precious metals are also used in medical devices, especially in minimally invasive and non-invasive procedures. Demand for platinum in pharmaceuticals is expected to grow in the future.
