ADB – Climate Resilience Urban Planning Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing assistance to Armenia, Georgia, and Uzbekistan in their efforts to improve urban planning for climate resilience. The Climate Resilience Urban Planning initiative aims to enhance the abilities of urban planners and decision-makers to incorporate climate change considerations into their development plans. Urban areas face challenges such as natural disasters, higher temperatures, and changing precipitation patterns due to climate change. To address these challenges, cities need to adapt their infrastructure and development strategies for long-term sustainability and resilience. The initiative is focused on training urban planners in data analysis, vulnerability assessments, and the use of climate change models to inform decision-making. ADB is also supporting the development of climate change adaptation strategies at the national and local levels. The initiative promotes collaboration among government agencies, academia, and civil society organizations to foster climate-resilient urban planning. ADB recognizes the significance of investing in climate resilience in urban areas and is committed to helping Armenia, Georgia, and Uzbekistan build climate-resilient cities.
