This report analyzes the Polish tech startup ecosystem, focusing on enterprise value, venture capital investment, and the status of VC-backed companies.
The Polish tech ecosystem is valued at €56.5 billion as of 2025, with 11 unicorns and $1B+ exits mostly not VC-backed. Only 37% of enterprise value belongs to VC-backed startups, compared to over 78% in other major European countries. Private startups represent 28% of the ecosystem and have grown significantly since 2019. The Warsaw metropolitan area holds one-third of the enterprise value, with other key regions contributing over 50%. Polish startups contribute more than a quarter of the Central and Eastern Europe region's enterprise value, making it as large as Estonia and Ukraine combined.
