In 2024, 2,790 small satellites were launched, with a significant portion being telecommunications satellites, such as Starlink and OneWeb. Small satellites account for 97% of all launched spacecraft in 2024 and 81% of the total mass of all launched spacecraft. The report provides data both including and excluding LEO broadband systems to show trends in other types of systems.
