KPMG – Low-code adoption as a driver of digital transformation

KPMG has conducted a study on the adoption of low-code development platforms as a driver of digital transformation. In today's competitive business landscape, companies are seeking to expedite their IT processes while implementing efficient software solutions. Customized software solutions offer the opportunity to align products and services with specific business needs and enhance customer satisfaction. They also provide flexibility in adapting to market dynamics and ensuring technology investments align with overall business strategy. Low-code development platforms are gaining attention as they enable non-developers to create software through a visual environment, eliminating the need for extensive coding. This study aims to address how these platforms are utilized and the challenges companies face in their adoption. It also explores global and regional security concerns, compliance and governance practices, emerging trends, and the role of modern technologies such as AI in low-code development. The study is based on a survey of 2,000 corporate decision-makers from Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA), the United States, and the Asia Pacific regions. It builds on a previous study conducted in 2023 on shaping digital transformation with low-code platforms. The findings aim to provide valuable insights and comparative analyses for companies looking to leverage low-code development platforms in their digital transformation journey.
