ADL – Global Electric Mobility Readiness Index, 2023

The GEMRIX 2023, conducted by ADL, is the latest edition of the Global Electric Mobility Readiness Index that covers 35 markets worldwide. The report highlights a significant increase in electric vehicle (EV) adoption since the previous edition in 2022. Norway continues to lead in EV readiness, but China is rapidly progressing and emerging as a strong competitor. Apart from these two leading markets, there are three distinct groups of countries that are also embracing EV adoption, although with variations in timing due to specific legislation and socioeconomic factors. Higher-income countries prioritize environmental protection, while lower-income countries focus on cost as the main determining factor. The potential to participate in the growing EV industry is also seen as a driving incentive for vehicle electrification in many regions.
