IATA β Air Cargo Market Analysis, June 2024
Summary
Global cargo tonne-kilometers (CTK) grew by 14.1% YoY in June 2024, reaching record levels for the first half of the year.
International air cargo volumes increased by 15.6% compared to the previous year, with carriers from Asia Pacific and Latin America leading the way. Industry-wide available cargo tonne-kilometers (ACTK) also saw an annual increase of 8.8% in June. Despite stable global production and trade figures, purchasing managers expressed optimism for manufacturing output but were concerned about new export orders. The airline industry experienced a 14.1% demand increase YoY in June, with carriers from Asia Pacific and Europe contributing the most to the growth. North America also played a significant role in the industry-wide increase.
