IATA – Air Passenger Market Analysis, June 2024

In June 2024, the global air passenger market saw a 9.1% increase in Revenue Passenger-Kilometers (RPK) compared to the previous year, outpacing the growth in Available Seat-Kilometers (ASK) at 8.5%. This led to a passenger load factor (PLF) of 85%, indicating strong demand for air travel. Domestic traffic grew by 4.3% YoY, with Brazil leading at 7.6% while international traffic marked a 12.3% YoY increase. The Asia Pacific region continued to drive traffic growth. Despite a mild slowdown in air travel demand compared to the previous year, the overall trend remains positive. The industry is experiencing a shift towards more conservative growth figures as the pandemic recovery phase progresses.
