IEA – Sustainable Transport Policy for Armenia: A Roadmap

The document presents a roadmap for sustainable transport policy for Armenia under the EU4Energy program.

The main goal of the strategy is to transform Armenia's transport system into a sustainable and efficient one, focusing on significantly reducing CO₂ emissions, strengthening regional connectivity, promoting economic development, and enhancing energy security. The main challenges include high dependence on imported fossil fuels, insufficient data transparency, and weak coordination among government bodies. The roadmap includes short-term (2025-2030) and long-term (2030-2040) goals organized around five key areas: improving governance and data quality, reducing the impact of internal combustion engine vehicles, accelerating road transport electrification, increasing transport system efficiency, and promoting the production and use of carbon-free fuels.
