WEF – Governance in the Age of Generative AI: Approach for Resilient

The rapid growth of generative AI has pushed governments to adapt and plan for its future impacts. This paper introduces a comprehensive governance framework for generative AI, emphasizing the need to harness existing regulations, promote cross-sector knowledge sharing, and plan for future developments. Governments are urged to evaluate and update current regulations to address gaps created by AI, involve multiple stakeholders in governance, and prepare for evolving technology through investments in upskilling, foresight exercises, and international cooperation. The goal is to ensure responsible and resilient governance of generative AI that balances economic opportunities with societal benefits and mitigates potential risks.
