IEEFA – Pipelines of Uncertainty

This report focuses on the role of European gas Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in the energy transition and the need for full emissions transparency.

It highlights the issue of transported emissions that are currently not fully accounted for in greenhouse gas reporting, analyzes inconsistent emissions disclosures by gas TSOs, and calls for these emissions to be included in Scope 3 accounting. The report also challenges industry positions and proposes a shared vision for improved transparency and emissions methodologies.
