Key findings include a 35% increase in overall BEV sales compared to the same period last year. For the first time, more than 21% of cars sold worldwide were BEVs. China, accounting for nearly two-thirds of global BEV sales, saw a 36% increase. In Europe, BEV sales in the top five countries grew by 32%, with particularly strong growth in Germany (45%). In the UK, the BEV market share reached 23% due to the ZEV Mandate. In Spain, BEV sales doubled, reaching an 11% market share. In the US, the BEV market grew by 22%, with a 10% market share.
